SOPHISTICATION AND FRESHNESS
Art Eye Gallery is a new vibrant, dynamic investment art and contemporary art space, which celebrates African artworks and sensibilities.
It is through an investigation of African art making, that we have located our space as a platform on which a number of artists are given artistic freedom, within a picturesque exhibition space. We specialize in building collections, sourcing those seldom found, often overlooked gems of yesteryear, special pieces that seldom come to market...and the development of young talent with passion. The space breathes an air of sophistication and freshness, giving our visitors an experience of art that is thoughtful and accessible.
Art Eye is a wonderful space that promotes African art and art making and lives by the notion that art should be for everyone. At Art Eye Gallery, We specialize in building collections, sourcing those seldom found, often overlooked gems of yesteryear, special pieces that seldom come to market and the development of young talent with passion. Our vast collection includes works of new artists like Sibusiso Duma, Luke Batha and
Spencer Whittle, spanning to our vast collection of established select masters, both celebrated and forgotten. Art Eye Gallery is also interested in revisiting the art works of African art pioneers like Ezrom Legae, Ben Arnold, Sydney Khumalo, Lucas Sithole and David Phoshoko; artists who created visionary work within the South African visual arts canon.
These artists are known for their artistic contribution during apartheid, as they were amongst a large group that first exhibited at the Polly Street Centre. Art Eye Gallery finds it interest in the artworks as well as the untold stories of struggle and celebration of art making by these South African legends.
